Last April 11th, 12th and 13th I had the opportunity to participate in the I International Advanced Course on Laser Energy Management in Prostate Enucleation, organized by CIA Urology 2024 in Arequipa, Peru.
The event, aimed at professionals and students of Urology, was endorsed by Sociedad Peruana de Urología and was attended by international urologists from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Peru and me, from Spain.
The objectives of this course were to provide knowledge about the latest technologies in laser energy applied to prostate enucleation, to promote the development of skills that allow the miniaturization of surgical interventions (MiLEP, MiPThuLEP) and to facilitate a space for academic exchange and collaboration between health professionals at an international level that transcends geographical and cultural borders.
Here is my participation in the course:
Three live surgeries:
- Endoscopic enucleation of the prostate with HoLEP holmium laser (surgeon and moderator).
Lectures:
- Implementation of an EEP program.
- Surgical techniques for BPH treatment. Enucleation is the new Gold standard, myth or reality?
Discussion Forum:
- Tips and tricks during enucleation and morcellation.
It has been a pleasure to participate in this scientific experience and to meet the talent of the Latin American community. From here, I thank the invitation to the organization and I hope to continue participating in congresses, courses and conferences on this side of the world.
