I am pleased to share the publication of a new treatise on urology, an editorial project on which we have worked for a long time with a very clear objective: to compile and organize the most recent knowledge in our specialty in a clear and useful way for everyday clinical practice.
Published by Editorial Panamericana, this book aims to become a reference resource for healthcare professionals, particularly for those who are beginning their careers in the specialty, such as residents and junior attending physicians. Throughout its chapters, we have sought to provide an updated, rigorous, and practical overview of the main fields of urology.
The work is structured into six major sections that reflect a large part of current urological practice:
• Andrology and reconstructive surgery
• Female functional urology
• Male functional urology
• Urologic oncology
• Lithiasis
• Miscellaneous topics
One of the most enriching aspects of this project has been the participation of numerous professionals dedicated to urology, many of whom are also friends. Their experience and knowledge have been essential in shaping a comprehensive and up-to-date treatise.
This work also reflects a shared motivation to continue advancing the knowledge of our specialty and to pass that learning on to the next generations of urologists.
I hope this book will be useful for those who share the interest and passion for continuing to learn and to advance the knowledge of urology.
