Dr. Javier Romero Otero has recently been appointed as Academic Urologist of the European Association of Urology (EAU), a recognition that marks a new milestone in Dr. Romero-Otero’s outstanding contributions to the field of urology.
Dr. Romero Otero has expressed his deepest gratitude to all those who have played a fundamental role in his professional career. In his own words, “this milestone represents not only my individual work but also that of the entire team of people who accompany me and have helped me for many years.”
In this regard, Dr. Romero Otero especially thanks his mentors Alfredo Rodríguez Antolín, Ignacio Moncada Iribarren, and Karim Touijer, “to whom I owe everything I am professionally today.” Likewise, Dr. Romero Otero appreciates the support of his family in the development of his intense professional activity.
Being an Academic of the European Association of Urology (EAU) is a prestigious recognition granted to urologists who excel in research, education, and clinical practice. EAU academics are considered leaders in their field and significantly contribute to the advancement of urology in Europe and worldwide.
This recognition requires certification in urology by a recognized European board, a history of significant achievements in research, education, or clinical practice, being an active member of the EAU for at least 10 years, and demonstrating a commitment to the values of excellence, integrity, collaboration, and respect.
