The past 8,9 and 10 February we attended the ESSM Congress 2024, organized by the European Society for Sexual Medicine, in Bari (Italy), whose program has had very current and interesting topics such as: sex, artificial intelligence and metaverse or advances in transgender health care, among a wide variety of topics.
Members of the Andrology and Reconstructive Surgery team of ROC Clinic and HM Hospitales attended this event to participate in various presentations and round tables, as well as to present our research work.
In my case, I had the honour of participating in the round table “Noveties in nerve-sparing surgery for prostate cancer treatment”. On the other hand, my colleague Dr. Esther García Rojo gave an interesting presentation on minimally invasive approaches in BPH surgery and its impact on sexual function.
In addition, we had the opportunity to present the results of our scientific research:
📄 Female partners satisfaction after penile prosthesis implantation.
📄 Validation of IIEF-5 and EHS in homosexual and bisexual men population.
📄 Vitamin D deficiency induces erectile dysfunction through superoxide overproduction in cavernosal tissue.
📄 Combined activation of calcium-activated potassium channels and inhibition of transient receptor potential channel-5 for improving cavernosal function.
It has been a real pleasure to share our experience with leading international andrologists and to keep up to date with the latest advances in sexual medicine. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the organisers for including us in this new edition.
