{"id":33601,"date":"2023-11-03T13:05:34","date_gmt":"2023-11-03T12:05:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/drjromero-otero.com\/?p=33601"},"modified":"2023-11-27T10:55:27","modified_gmt":"2023-11-27T09:55:27","slug":"men_health_meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/drjromero-otero.com\/en\/men_health_meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Men&#8217;s Health&#8221; Meeting with Diario ABC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, November 2, took place the meeting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.es\/salud\/enfermedades\/importancia-diagnostico-precoz-20231127190154-nt.html?ref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.abc.es%2Fsalud%2Fenfermedades%2Fimportancia-diagnostico-precoz-20231127190154-nt.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;Salud en Masculino&#8221;<\/a> organized by Diario ABC and <a href=\"https:\/\/rocclinic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ROC Clinic<\/a>. This event was endorsed by two of the most important associations in the field of Urology: the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aeu.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Spanish Association of Urology<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/caunet.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">American Confederation of Urology.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In this forum we transmit clear and direct messages about the <strong>importance of prevention and early diagnosis of pathologies<\/strong> such as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/drjromero-otero.com\/especialidad\/cancer-de-prostata\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">prostate cancer<\/a> <\/strong>and<strong> testicular cancer<\/strong>, as well as promoting awareness in the general population, encouraging hope.<\/p>\n<p>During this symposium, we had the participation of three great urologists, <strong>Dr. Alejandro Rodriguez<\/strong>, Secretary General of the American Confederation of Urology, <strong>Dr. Jos\u00e9 Luis Alvarez Ossorio<\/strong>, President of the Spanish Association of Urology and my colleague, the Deputy Director of <strong>ROC Clinic<\/strong>, <strong>Dr. Juan Justo Quintas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the first part we talked about <strong>Prostate Cancer<\/strong>, one of the most frequent diseases in older men.<\/p>\n<p>Here we discussed topics such as incidence and importance of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Prostate Cancer<\/strong> in our environment (number of men affected, expenses in diagnosis and treatment)<\/li>\n<li>Possible forms of <strong>prevention and lifestyle habits.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The importance of screening and early detection, status of screening and early detection in the USA.<\/li>\n<li>Genetic\/hyper-early diagnosis: where do we stand.<\/li>\n<li>The importance of an accurate biopsy to define the disease and personalize treatment.<\/li>\n<li>Active surveillance and focal therapy.<\/li>\n<li>R<strong>obotic surgery<\/strong> and the role played by other approaches at present and finally.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>role of radiotherapy<\/strong> in this pathology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Secondly, we had the opportunity to talk about another of the pathologies that concern us in men, <a href=\"https:\/\/rocclinic.com\/cancer-de-testiculo\/#:~:text=El%20c%C3%A1ncer%20de%20test%C3%ADculo%20se%20manifiesta%20habitualmente%20como%20una%20masa,de%20la%20localizaci%C3%B3n%20del%20tumor.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>testicular cancer<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On this occasion, we touched on topics such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The incidence and importance of this pathology in our environment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The importance of self-examination<\/strong> and explained the proper way to perform one.<\/li>\n<li>Life expectancy in <strong>testicular cancer<\/strong> and the importance of diagnosis in early stages of the disease.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I would like to thank all those who made this space possible and shared their time to talk about the importance of going to the urologist for periodic check-ups, and offering a message of positivism for men and their families.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-33601 gallery-columns-3 gallery-size-thumbnail'><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/drjromero-otero.com\/en\/men_health_meeting\/whatsapp-image-2023-11-03-at-10-13-03-3-2\/'><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/drjromero-otero.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/WhatsApp-Image-2023-11-03-at-10.13.03-3-150x150.jpeg\" class=\"attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail\" alt=\"Encuentro ABC salud\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/drjromero-otero.com\/en\/men_health_meeting\/whatsapp-image-2023-11-03-at-14-13-14-2\/'><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/drjromero-otero.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/WhatsApp-Image-2023-11-03-at-14.13.14-150x150.jpeg\" class=\"attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail\" alt=\"Mens Health meeting\" aria-describedby=\"gallery-1-33083\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<figcaption class='wp-caption-text gallery-caption' id='gallery-1-33083'>\n\t\t\t\tMens Health meeting\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon portrait'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/drjromero-otero.com\/en\/men_health_meeting\/whatsapp-image-2023-11-03-at-14-13-13-2\/'><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/drjromero-otero.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/WhatsApp-Image-2023-11-03-at-14.13.13-150x150.jpeg\" class=\"attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail\" alt=\"Dr Romeo -
